Our Dad
As many of you know, our dad has dedicated his entire life to caring for our mom and putting his family’s needs above all else. In October, he was diagnosed with leukemia—a rare and aggressive form of the disease that, unfortunately, is not curable. He has undergone many rounds of chemotherapy, which gave us these precious extra months together, but after speaking with his care team, we now know that our time with him is limited.
One of the hardest parts of this journey has been figuring out how to share this news with the many people who have known and loved him over the years. How do we ensure that he has the chance to hear from those who have been a part of his life? While he’s never been one for social media, we realized that this is the best way to reach as many people as possible.
If you knew our dad, we ask that you please share this message with others who may have, too. We want to give him the gift of hearing from the people who have meant something to him, and we would truly appreciate any messages, prayers, and kind words you can send.
Because his immune system is compromised, we have to limit in-person visits. However, cards, letters, and video messages would mean the world to him right now. These will bring him so much comfort and will be something we cherish in the days ahead.
Many people have asked how they can help, and the truth is, we don’t know what to say. The only thing we can think of right now is help as we prepare to honor his final wishes. If you feel moved to contribute in any way, we would be beyond grateful.
