On March 22nd, I lost my beloved Great Dane, Luca, at just three years old. He suffered from Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GVD), a medical emergency that required immediate surgery. The only thing standing between him and a chance at survival was money—$6,000 upfront. Because I couldn’t pay, I was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep.
No one should have to lose their pet solely because they can’t afford emergency care in the moment. Veterinary clinics rarely offer payment plans, leaving owners helpless in life-or-death situations. This system is broken, and I want to change it.
This fundraiser isn’t just about Luca—it’s about every pet owner who has faced the same devastating choice. My goal is to push for more accessible vet payment options, raise awareness, and advocate for real solutions so no one else has to go through this.
